Game Picks | Another Night on the Assembly Line: Satisfactory 1.2 Co-op and Persistent Factory Servers

Satisfactory 1.2 adds fluid transport trucks and dynamic weather! Explore update highlights, squad roles, and 24-hour dedicated servers for building a giant multilevel factory with friends.

Anyone who has played Satisfactory knows its peculiar ability to make time disappear: you log in just to tidy a few conveyor belts, then look up and discover it is morning. Version 1.2 addresses major frustrations with dedicated fluid freight trucks and automatic loading stations, freeing players from laying dozens of kilometers of pipes, and a complete rebuild of vehicle-fleet pathfinding AI! If you plan to start again with two or three engineering-minded friends, take a look at these practical squad tips.

New Activities Your Squad Will Enjoy in 1.2

  1. A fluid-transport revolution: fewer pipes across the entire map: Moving crude oil, nitrogen, or sulfuric acid to a central industrial zone dozens of kilometers away used to mean spending the night laying long rows of pipes on cliffs and agonizing over head lift. Version 1.2's fluid trucks route chemical materials through the road network instead, making logistics both convenient and impressive.
  2. Vehicle fleets finally stop falling off cliffs: Rebuilt obstacle avoidance and yielding at intersections are reliable, putting an end to automated trucks stuck in midair or colliding and tumbling into the abyss.
  3. Relaxing ways to divide the work: We recommend 2–4 players: a meticulous chief engineer balances production lines with a calculator; a civil-engineering enthusiast builds roads, interchanges, and modern enclosed factory halls; an explorer uses a jetpack to search the map for slugs and hard drives. Everyone works independently, but watching the finished production line run brings great satisfaction!

Give the Host's Computer a Break: Set Up a Persistent Squad Server

Later in the game, vast conveyor networks and complex fluid calculations demand substantial CPU resources. With a modest host computer, teammates can move one step and teleport three, making play frustrating. A persistent dedicated server frees up the host's computer:

  • Server AppID: 1690800 (anonymous SteamCMD download)
  • Three core communication ports:
    • UDP/TCP 7777: Main game traffic (must be forwarded)
    • UDP 15000: Queries and heartbeat status
    • UDP 15777: Beacon status detection
  • Complete setup guide: For full parameter explanations and tuning, see Satisfactory Dedicated Server Setup and FactoryGame Parameter Tuning.

An Easier Way to Manage Your Squad's Server

Satisfactory dedicated servers have a cumbersome initial authentication and certificate process. We recommend our open-source LanGame Server Manager (LGSM) (GitHub: SZSLGJCOM/LanGame-Server-Manager). Its automated Satisfactory container and template provide one-click startup and scheduled snapshots, allowing one-click rollback if power trips or saves go wrong and protecting hundreds of hours of factory work.

How Can Friends Connect Reliably Across Networks?

  • With a public IP: Forward port 7777 on your router, select “Server Manager” from the main menu, and enter public-IP:7777 to connect directly.
  • Without a public IP on rental or campus networks: Install LanGame OS Orbit on everyone's computer, join the same LINK virtual LAN room, and connect using the generated virtual network adapter IP. No public IP is needed, and the low latency feels like working together in the same office!
