Game Picks | Bring the Crew Back: Palworld 1.0 Co-op Tips and Persistent Servers

Palworld 1.0 rebuilds automated production and opens the World Tree region. Explore the key changes, squad roles, and practical tips for a 24-hour dedicated server.

Trying to decide what to play with old friends this weekend? You probably know this frustrating scene: the host announces “I'm going to bed,” turns off the computer, and everyone still breeding or catching Pals is disconnected. Palworld's 1.0 release finally rebuilds its previously sluggish pathfinding and production lines and opens the eagerly anticipated World Tree region. It is a great time to reunite the old squad and start a fresh server!

Why Is 1.0 Especially Good for a Fresh Start with Friends?

  1. Production Line 2.0: large Pals finally stop getting stuck: One of the biggest frustrations was watching Anubis or Grizzbolt become trapped in a logging site or ceiling and starve into depression. Version 1.0 rewrites workbench pathfinding and transport priorities, allowing automated mines and cooking lines to run without the whole squad becoming full-time caretakers.
  2. The mysterious, difficult World Tree region: The high-tier ecosystem around the World Tree at the world's edge brings epic ancient guardians. Their large health pools and wide-area abilities test squad roles: who kites and holds aggro, who deals damage from the rear, and who heals and revives teammates?
  3. More enjoyable ways to share duties: Some players love exploring and catching legendary creatures; others prefer hatching eggs and breeding traits at the base; another may enjoy building luxurious multistory seaside homes. Everyone can contribute while enjoying their own preferred activity.

Set Up a Persistent 24-Hour Server

If you want everyone to enter the game and collect resources regardless of late work shifts or early starts, the best approach is a dedicated server running around the clock:

  • Server AppID: 2394010 (anonymous download through SteamCMD)
  • Network communication port: UDP 8211 (main game traffic; forward it on the router and allow it through the firewall)
  • Control and monitoring: TCP 25575 (RCON remote administration) / HTTP 8212 (REST API)
  • Memory guidance: Pocketpair's official requirements list 16 GB as required and recommend more than 32 GB. Monitor actual use according to player count and base scale.
  • Complete setup guide: For detailed settings, see our Palworld Dedicated Server Setup and PalWorldSettings.ini Tuning.

An Easier Way to Manage Your Squad's Server

Manually editing the long single-line PalWorldSettings.ini makes it easy to miss a comma and invalidate the configuration. We strongly recommend our open-source LanGame Server Manager (LGSM) (GitHub: SZSLGJCOM/LanGame-Server-Manager). Its Palworld template lets you adjust experience multipliers and incubation times with a few clicks, configure smooth automatic restarts when memory use gets too high, and schedule snapshots against save damage.

Network Tips for Friends in Different Locations

  • With a public IP at home: Forward port 8211 to the server computer on your router, share your public IP with friends, and have them enter public-IP:8211 in the main menu.
  • Without a public IP on rental or campus networks: Use our LanGame OS Orbit, open LINK virtual LAN, join the same room, and connect using the server's virtual network adapter IP. Confirm that the game port is reachable first; observe latency and packet loss on the actual network.
