RuneScape: Dragonwilds Dedicated Server Setup and DedicatedServer.ini Guide

Deploy a RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server (AppID 4019830): UDP 7777/27057 planning, DedicatedServer.ini tuning, and open-source LGSM management.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds combines classic skill progression, extensive dungeon exploration, open-world dragon lair expeditions, and sandbox construction. An official self-hosted Dedicated Server gives a guild of friends a persistent 24-hour fantasy world, keeping forging, alchemy, logging, and world boss spawning independent of the host's personal PC. This article details official server deployment and optimization settings.

1. Server hardware baseline

Configuration Minimum requirement Recommended production configuration
CPU architecture 4 cores / above 3.0 GHz 8 cores / high clock speed of 3.6 GHz+ (for monster spawns in a vast open world)
Physical RAM 8 GB physical RAM 16 GB+ physical RAM (allowing for dungeons and complex base building meshes)
Disk storage 20 GB reserved space Fast NVMe SSD (frequent player inventory and skill data reads/writes)
Upload bandwidth 10 Mbps 25 Mbps+ (for smooth dungeon combat in a 16-player guild)

2. Deploy with SteamCMD

The official Dragonwilds dedicated server supports anonymous SteamCMD downloads:

  • Server AppID: 4019830
  • Main executable: RSDragonwildsServer.exe
Shell
# Download/update the Dragonwilds dedicated server anonymously
steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 4019830 validate +quit

The first run of RSDragonwildsServer.exe creates DedicatedServer.ini in RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/.

3. Network port matrix

Dragonwilds uses two core UDP ports:

Port Transport protocol Purpose Firewall and forwarding policy
7777 UDP Core client connections and combat data synchronization Core port; allow in the firewall and forward on the router for public access
27057 UDP Steam queries and lobby listing broadcasts Forwarding required for discovery in the game's server list

Allow the ports in Windows PowerShell:

PowerShell
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Dragonwilds Game UDP" -Direction Inbound -LocalPort 7777 -Protocol UDP -Action Allow
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Dragonwilds Query UDP" -Direction Inbound -LocalPort 27057 -Protocol UDP -Action Allow

4. Main configuration: DedicatedServer.ini

The file is located at RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/DedicatedServer.ini:

INI
[/Script/Dominion.DedicatedServerSettings]
; Public server display name
ServerName=Dragonwilds LanGame Realm
; Join password (leave empty for public password-free access)
ServerPassword=
; Administrator password
AdminPassword=YourSecretAdminPassword
; Maximum online guild members
MaxPlayers=16
; Bound ports
Port=7777
QueryPort=27057
; Automatic save interval (seconds)
AutoSaveIntervalSec=300

Example startup command:

PowerShell
.\RSDragonwildsServer.exe -log -Port=7777 -QueryPort=27057

5. Open-source LGSM management

We recommend the official open-source LanGame Server Manager (LGSM) (repository: GitHub - SZSLGJCOM/LanGame-Server-Manager).

  1. One-click template startup: LGSM's built-in Dragonwilds template downloads the 4019830 core in one click.
  2. Smart adapter binding: Configures Port and QueryPort automatically to prevent contention.
  3. Automatic guild world snapshots: Backs up Saved to protect the castles and resources your group has worked to build.

6. Remote multiplayer and network optimization

  • Public internet: Forward UDP 7777/27057 on the router. Teammates enter public IP:7777 in the game's main menu to connect directly to the guild world.
  • Networking without a public IP: For rented accommodation or campus networks, use LINK in LanGame OS Orbit. Bring teammates into the same encrypted LAN room and connect through virtual IPs within seconds for low-latency fantasy adventures!
