Escape death on a cross and fight for survival in the barren Exiled Lands: the savage action sandbox Conan Exiles has entered its third epic Age, Age of Heroes! This major update transforms the old arrangement where thralls were merely fixtures at workbenches. The revamped Living Settlements system turns them into inhabitants who eat, sleep, patrol, and defend your camp. It also introduces heroic companions with their own epic questlines and bespoke voice acting, including the Khitan sorcerer Liu Fei and Aesir warrior Freya. How Does Age of Heroes Transform Co-op in the Exiled Lands?

  1. Living Settlements make great castles feel alive: Thrall workers no longer stand rigidly at a forge or tanning rack. They visit the dining hall, drink ale and chat around campfires, return to bedrooms to rest, and take up arms to defend the settlement when enemies attack. Build an imposing stone city together and walking its streets feels like entering a real ancient fortress.
  2. Distinctive heroic companions and branching epic stories: Follow the new heroic companions on their personal story adventures. Your squad's choices awaken different combat talents and Perks. When challenging world bosses or ancient ruins, companions provide powerful spell support or tanking and taunts.
  3. Heavy-hitting melee combat and summoned gods: Spear thrusts, sweeping greatswords, and limb-severing battle-axe strikes make combat solid and bloody. Later, your squad can collect religious fervor and summon towering god avatars, such as Set's giant serpent or Yog's tentacled form, to flatten enemy fortresses in spectacular fashion!

Avoiding Pitfalls: Why Use a Dedicated Server?

Thrall production cycles, building-stability calculations, and Purge sieges require continuous simulation over time. Local hosting imposes a distance limit, and all smelting and crafting freezes as soon as the host goes offline:

  • Server AppID: 443030 (anonymous SteamCMD download)
  • Core communication ports: UDP 7777 (main communication port), UDP 7778 (physics peer port), and UDP 27015 (Steam handshakes)
  • Configuration file: ServerSettings.ini (experience and gathering multipliers, Purge frequency, and PvP damage)

Playing Across Networks and Joining the Server

  • With a public IP: Forward UDP ports 7777/7778/27015 on your router. Friends can enter public-IP:7777 on the join screen to reach the Exiled Lands.
  • Without a public IP on rental or campus networks: Everyone can open the LINK feature in LanGame OS Orbit, enter a private encrypted room, and connect using the generated virtual network adapter IP. The high-speed encrypted P2P tunnel makes starting out in the wilderness stutter-free!
